Here is what to do:

Act Promptly to Notify Your Insurer
Report the accident to your insurer within seven days.
If you are too badly hurt, someone may do this for you.
If the report is made later than seven days after the
accident there may be delays in benefits and treatment.

Complete the Accident Benefits Package
The insurer will send you an accident benefits package. Most people find completing these difficult and confusing, but they must be completed for you to access the treatment and support services that your premiums have paid for.

Don’t Despair – Help is Available
Contact an Occupational Therapist (OT). The OT will visit you in hospital or home and determine your equipment and service needs. The OT should be chosen by you.

Needs Assessment & Treatment
After the package has been completed an MVA-funded
home visit will be done by an OT to determine your
needs. Or you may see a Physiotherapist (PT) for a
home visit or clinic assessment.
